Our client is a major infrastructure service provider operating across Australasia. A subsidiary to an international contractor, the business operates, maintains and manages key infrastructure and assets across both public and private spheres.
With a restructure slated across key business units (including legal), one existing senior counsel’s job remit was being remodelled, but within a fluid and shifting environment. This meant a difficulty in forecasting a landing position, but an ongoing need for legal and risk assistance across a number of major projects. In order to progress both ongoing projects and the restructure, the senior counsel needed support from a lawyer of a similar level.
The client was open to a Vario solution and emphasised the cultural fit being particularly important within the legal team and the wider business.
The client was interested in a resource that had the backing of and support from Pinsent Masons. Together we quickly identified three potential skill fits for the client. Upon reviewing the psychometric testing results it became clear that one Vario in particular was a close match for the client’s culture.
The Vario volunteered to fly in from interstate and interviewed with success at the client’s outer suburban Melbourne office.
The client offered the Vario a four month contract and has extended their term a further two months, taking the assignment to the end of this year. Currently they are in talks with the Vario on making him a permanent hire.
